Funding secured for North West Archives

The Regional Archive Council and its partners have secured £90,000 from Resource in 2002/3 for archive specific projects in the North West. As part of the Resource allocation for work in Museums, Archives and Libraries in the region, three projects will be undertaken to collect information, support archive services and promote the archive sector. All projects were identified from research undertaken in 2001/2 and outlined in the action plan accompanying the Regional Archive Strategy. Further details are included in this website.

Electronic Records survey

NWRAC aims to promote and improve provision for electronic records and to co-ordinate training and awareness of electronic record keeping issues.

As part of her studies for the Masters in Archive Administration and Records Management, at LUCAS and in conjunction with NWRAC, Helen Swinnerton is undertaking a study into the extent of provision for the management and long term accessibility of electronic records in archive offices in the region. This will involve the circulation of questionnaires to repositories and consultation with records management services and organisations. Your assistance in this important project will be appreciated.
